At Christopher Kids, we believe every child deserves a space that not only meets their needs but also reflects their personality and provides a sense of comfort and joy. Recently, we had the privilege of working on a special project for John David a sweet boy transitioning from a nursery to a big-boy room. His families top priorities were to create a room that was not only functional and safe but also beautiful and representative of his vibrant personality. As John David has specific medical needs, it was important to address these in a way that blended seamlessly with the design of the room. Our team worked closely with his family to ensure the space would meet both his medical requirements and his desire for a room to feel like home. One of the primary concerns was incorporating a raised bed and custom changing table to make daily tasks easier and safer for both John David and his family. We wanted John David's room to feel both elevated and timeless, a space that would grow with him . To achieve this, we added special touches like antique cabinets, accessories, and a trunk that gave the room a sophisticated yet approachable feel. These carefully chosen elements helped make the space feel personalized, creating a balance between the practical and beautiful. The layout of the room was thoughtfully designed to optimize space, with the middle of the room being left open for flexibility. A large part of this design was a custom daybed by Moss Home, which was positioned perfectly on the far wall to conceal a motorized mattress foundation. This foundation is a key feature that allows John David to sit up easily when receiving treatment, offering both comfort and functionality without compromising the room's aesthetic. Ultimately, this room is a place where John David can feel safe, comfortable, and free to express his personality. We are proud to have been a part of creating a space that helps John David thrive - one that he can enjoy as he continues to grow, heal, and explore the world around him.
