ellis & sawyer

Siblings Ellis & Sawyer share a rare genetic condition called You-Hoover-Fong syndrome, but their joyful spirits are what shine brightest. Though both are nonverbal and use wheelchairs, they are incredibly social, curious, and eager to engage with the world around them. Sawyer is gentle, kind, and empathetic, while Ellis is playful, silly, and always ready for fun.

Their playroom is truly the heart of their time together—a place to play, read, relax, learn, and, most importantly, make each other laugh. As Sawyer and Ellis have grown, their needs have evolved as well. Our goal was to create a space that grows alongside them: thoughtfully designed for accessibility and function, with purposeful storage, flexible areas for play and learning, and a comfortable place where they can continue spending time together and making memories for years to come.
