Executive Director

libby adams

Libby is originally from Pensacola, Florida, and attended the University of Alabama before beginning her career in event planning in Atlanta. After moving to Birmingham, she found a meaningful connection to Christopher Kids through her heart for service and desire to make a difference in the lives of children and families in her community. Her role brings together so much of what she loves, from organizing thoughtful spaces for recipients to helping coordinate fundraising events that support the mission. Libby is especially passionate about the way Christopher Kids creates opportunities for connection, care, and joy for families, and she is grateful to play a part in bringing those moments to life.

Carrie was born and raised in Decatur, Alabama, but has called Birmingham home for more than 20 years. She attended Samford University, where she earned a Bachelor of Science in Human Development and Family Studies, before completing her Master’s in Education at UAB. Carrie spent seventeen years teaching in Birmingham’s public and private school systems, an experience that deepened her passion for supporting children, strengthening families, and creating meaningful connections. Today, she brings that same heart for service to her work with Christopher Kids, where she helps further the organization’s mission of creating thoughtful, personalized spaces for children and their families.

The Christopher Kids Junior Board is a group of young professionals who support our mission of serving children with life-altering challenges through accessible design. Members attend monthly meetings, volunteer and participate in events, help with fundraising, and positively promote Christopher Kids in our community. It’s a fun, hands-on way to connect with others and make a difference for local children and families.
