John Wesley is a joyful and engaging child who experiences and communicates with the world in his own unique way. Because he is nonverbal, creating an environment that supports his individual needs was especially important. The purpose of this space was to give John Wesley a place where he could relax, communicate, play, and feel supported in managing his emotions and behaviors.

Sensory play, comfort, and familiarity were central to the design. Each element, from his projector to his mini trampoline, was thoughtfully chosen to bring some of the tools and resources he uses at school into his home. The result is a space designed specifically for John Wesley—one that encourages engagement, provides comfort, and supports him in meaningful ways. We are honored to have had the opportunity to create this space for him and to continue serving children and families through thoughtful design.
