Margaret is a bright, busy, and endlessly curious four-year-old who lives with Autism and Sensory Processing Disorder. As she grows, so do her needs, especially when it comes to creating a safe and comforting place to sleep and play. She had quickly outgrown her crib, and a fully enclosed “big-girl bed” had become an important necessity. A standard bed was not a safe option for her, and without the right supports in place, nighttime could be stressful and potentially dangerous.

Margaret also thrives in an environment tailored to her sensory needs, so creating a calming, sensory-friendly space was essential to supporting her comfort, development, and overall well-being. From soft textures to soothing lighting, each detail was thoughtfully chosen to help her feel grounded, secure, and at ease.

Most importantly, we wanted the room to feel completely like her. Margaret adores all things pink, loves to play dress-up, dances to music any chance she gets, and enjoys spending time on her tablet. The finished space brings together safety, sensory support, and her fun, girly personality—giving her a room where she can sleep soundly, play freely, and continue to thrive.
